RailOne App 2026 — Complete Guide to India's New Railway Super App (Download, Features & How to Book)

RailOne replaces UTS as India's all-in-one railway app. Learn how to download, set up, book reserved & unreserved tickets, track trains, order food, and use R-Wallet — complete 2026 guide with step-by-step screenshots.

RailOne app on smartphone showing Indian Railways ticket booking interface

Indian Railways has officially launched RailOne — the all-in-one super app that replaces UTS and consolidates every railway service into a single platform. With over 2.57 crore downloads and 7.64 lakh tickets booked daily, RailOne is already the most-used railway app in India. If you haven't switched yet, this guide covers everything from download to your first booking.

What Is RailOne? Why Did Indian Railways Launch It?

Before RailOne, passengers needed multiple apps — IRCTC for reserved tickets, UTS for unreserved and platform tickets, Rail Madad for complaints, and separate platforms for food ordering and coach position. This fragmented experience confused millions of travelers.

RailOne, developed by CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) in collaboration with IRCTC, merges all these services into one app. Indian Railways officially discontinued the UTS app on March 1, 2026, directing all passengers to RailOne.

The core idea: One app, one login, every railway service.

RailOne vs IRCTC vs UTS — What's the Difference?

| Feature | RailOne | IRCTC App | Old UTS App |

|---------|---------|-----------|-------------|

| Reserved Tickets | Yes (via IRCTC) | Yes | No |

| Unreserved Tickets | Yes + 3% discount | No | Yes |

| Platform Tickets | Yes | No | Yes |

| Live Train Tracking | Yes | Limited | No |

| Coach Position | Yes | No | No |

| Food Ordering | Yes (e-catering) | Separate | No |

| Rail Madad (Complaints) | Yes | Separate | No |

| R-Wallet | Yes (migrated) | No | Yes |

| Porter Booking | Yes | No | No |

| Last-Mile Taxi | Yes | No | No |

| mPIN / Biometric Login | Yes | No | No |

Bottom line: RailOne does everything IRCTC and UTS did — plus coach position, food ordering, complaint tracking, porter and taxi booking, all in one login.

How to Download RailOne

Android (Google Play Store)

  • Open Google Play Store on your phone
  • Search for "RailOne" in the search bar
  • Look for the official app by Indian Railways / CRIS
  • Tap Install — the app is about 45 MB

iPhone (Apple App Store)

  • Open the App Store
  • Search for "RailOne"
  • Look for the app listed under IRCTC / Indian Railways
  • Tap Get and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID
  • Open the app after installation

Important: Only download from official stores. The official package name on Android is org.cris.aikyam.

How to Set Up Your RailOne Account

If You Already Have an IRCTC or UTS Account

  • Open RailOne and tap Sign In
  • Enter your existing IRCTC username or UTS registered mobile number
  • Verify with OTP sent to your registered phone
  • Set up mPIN (4-digit PIN for quick future login)
  • Your R-Wallet balance from UTS transfers automatically

New User Registration

  • Tap Sign Up on the welcome screen
  • Enter your mobile number and verify with OTP
  • Fill in your name, email, and date of birth
  • Set a password and mPIN
  • Your account is ready — you can immediately book tickets

Pro tip: Enable biometric login (fingerprint or face) for the fastest access. The single sign-on means you never need to re-authenticate between services.

How to Book Reserved Tickets on RailOne

Reserved tickets (Sleeper, 3AC, 2AC, 1AC, Chair Car) are booked through IRCTC's system within RailOne:

  • Open RailOne and tap Book Tickets
  • Select Reserved Ticket
  • Enter From Station and To Station (type station name or code)
  • Select your Travel Date and preferred Class
  • Tap Search Trains — results show availability, fare, and train timings
  • Choose your train and tap Book Now
  • Add passenger details (name, age, berth preference, ID proof)
  • Choose payment: R-Wallet, UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking
  • Complete payment — your e-ticket with PNR appears instantly

Tatkal Booking: Tatkal tickets are available on RailOne at 10:00 AM (AC classes) and 11:00 AM (Non-AC) — same as IRCTC. The app supports Aadhaar-verified priority booking introduced in January 2026.

How to Book Unreserved & Platform Tickets

This is where RailOne truly shines — unreserved ticket booking was impossible on IRCTC.

Unreserved Tickets

  • Tap Book TicketsUnreserved Ticket
  • Enter From and To stations
  • Select number of passengers (up to 4 per booking)
  • Choose General or Second Sitting class
  • Pay using R-Wallet for an automatic 3% discount
  • Your QR-code ticket appears — show it at the gate or to the TTE

Platform Tickets

  • Tap Book TicketsPlatform Ticket
  • Select your station
  • Pay Rs 10–50 (varies by station) through R-Wallet or UPI
  • Get a QR-code platform ticket valid for 2 hours

No more standing in long queues at the counter. This alone is why millions have switched to RailOne.

R-Wallet — Your Railway Digital Wallet

R-Wallet is the integrated digital wallet inside RailOne:

  • Add Money: UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking
  • 3% Discount: On every unreserved and platform ticket paid via R-Wallet
  • Auto-Migration: If you had balance in the old UTS R-Wallet, it transferred automatically when you logged in with the same mobile number
  • Minimum Balance: No minimum required
  • Refunds: Cancellation refunds credited to R-Wallet within 24 hours

Live Train Tracking on RailOne

No need for a separate train tracking app:

  • Tap Track Train from the home screen
  • Enter Train Number or PNR Number
  • See live location on a map with real-time updates
  • View Expected Delay in minutes, Platform Number, and Coach Position
  • Get push notifications when your train is approaching your station

Pro tip: Use ConfirmYatra alongside RailOne for detailed PNR status with waitlist confirmation predictions — information that RailOne doesn't provide.

Food Ordering (E-Catering)

Order meals directly to your seat while traveling:

  • Tap Order Food from the home screen
  • Enter your PNR Number — the app auto-detects your train and current station
  • Browse restaurant options at upcoming stations
  • Place your order — food is delivered to your seat at the next major stop
  • Pay via R-Wallet, UPI, or card

Popular options include meals from IRCTC-authorized vendors, fast food chains, and regional cuisine restaurants available along your route.

Rail Madad — Complaint & Support

RailOne integrates Rail Madad for in-journey complaint resolution:

  • Tap Rail Madad from the home screen
  • Select complaint category: Cleanliness, Security, Catering, Staff Behavior, Medical Emergency, etc.
  • Add description and optional photo
  • Submit — you get a reference number
  • Track complaint status in real-time with updates
  • Average resolution time: 1–4 hours for on-train issues

Common Issues & Fixes

"Login Failed" Error

  • Clear app cache: Settings → Apps → RailOne → Clear Cache
  • Ensure your mobile number matches your IRCTC/UTS registration
  • Try mPIN login instead of password

R-Wallet Balance Not Showing

  • Log out and log back in with the same mobile number you used on UTS
  • Balance migration takes up to 24 hours after first login
  • Contact Rail Madad if balance still missing after 48 hours

Payment Failed

  • Check internet connection — switch from WiFi to mobile data
  • Try R-Wallet instead of UPI for faster processing
  • Ensure your IRCTC account has Aadhaar verification completed

Should You Still Use IRCTC Separately?

For most travelers, RailOne is all you need. However, IRCTC.co.in (the website) still offers some advantages:

  • Web-based booking — RailOne is mobile-only, no desktop version
  • Tourism packages — IRCTC tourism and Bharat Darshan packages are only on irctc.co.in
  • Retiring room booking — Available on IRCTC website, not yet on RailOne

For reserved ticket booking on mobile, RailOne and the IRCTC app are equally capable since RailOne uses IRCTC's backend. But for unreserved tickets, platform tickets, live tracking, and support — RailOne is the only option.

Final Verdict

RailOne is not just a replacement for UTS — it's a genuine upgrade to the entire Indian Railways passenger experience. One app, one login, and every service from ticket booking to food delivery to complaint resolution. The 3% R-Wallet discount on unreserved tickets sweetens the deal further.

If you're still using the old IRCTC app alongside bookmarked websites and separate tracking tools, it's time to consolidate. Download RailOne, migrate your account, and experience what a modern railway app should feel like.
